Unmatched picture quality
All Kaleido multi-viewers offer unmatched picture quality, using Miranda’s Polyphase scaling technology. The finest details can be maintained over the full range of window sizes, from the smallest windows up to full frame. In contrast, other multi-viewers use off-the-shelf scaler chips designed for use in televisions and projectors. These chips are not optimized for the multi-viewer application, and can create soft images and anti-aliasing during picture re-sizing.
Combined IP and Baseband video monitoring
IP and Baseband sources can be monitored together on a single monitor, due to the tight integration between the Kaleido family of Baseband multi-viewers and the new Kaleido-IP multi-viewer, using a Cascading capability. This simplifies the monitoring of local playout signals and returns feeds in control rooms.
Mixing and matching multi-viewers
In many cases, the optimum monitoring system for a facility will involve using a range of multi-viewer models, each with different levels of functionality. All the multi-viewers in the Kaleido family can be ‘mixed and matched’ to create a multi-viewer Cluster with seamless monitoring across a facility. This delivers exceptional cost, space, and power efficiency.
Full scalability with seamless router integration
With tight interfacing with NVISION and third party routers, the Kaleido multi-viewers can be expanded to create the very largest monitoring systems, with up to 1152 SDI inputs and 288 multi-viewer outputs. This expansion is achieved without affecting the picture quality or the layout flexibility.
Total flexibility in display configuration
Layout flexibility has always been the number one reason to buy a multi-viewer, and the Kaleido family offers the ultimate level of flexibility. The multi-viewers provide unlimited signal repetition and sizing across all their displays, without blocking or grouping restrictions.
Unified operation across entire range
All Kaleido multi-viewers are exceptionally easy to use, due to the common configuration and control tools used across the family. These include intuitive layout editing tools, and a choice of remote panels plus On-screen Mouse control.
Advanced Metadata extraction and alarming
The Kaleido-X, Kaleido-X16 and Kaleido-IP (future) multi-viewers offer advanced Metadata extraction, signal probing, and alarming capabilities, and they are ideal for master control and headend environments. Metadata extraction includes Closed Captioning/Subtitles and AFD/WSS, as well as Dolby E (dialnorm, program configuration and audio level meters). Loudness measurement can be performed on every multi-viewer input using LEQA or ITU-1770 standards. The Kaleido family also offers full interfacing to Miranda’s iControl system for advanced, facility wide monitoring and control.
Outstanding energy and space efficiency
Energy and space efficiency are especially important for monitoring in trucks. The Kaleido-Modular offers unsurpassed efficiency with up to 20 multi-viewer outputs per 3RU frame, consuming less than 300 Watts in total.
