The MCL 8200 has a new software codec configuration for SD only and HD and SD, along with open standard MXF interoperability — making it extremely flexible and future-proof. With the MCL 8200, broadcasters can choose their preferred automation system or media asset manager, including the SeaChange MediaController tool. The MCL 8200 is uniquely scalable starting with 2 inputs and 4 outputs, and can expand easily to 4 inputs and 8 outputs, facilitating higher channel density and lower cost.
The MCL 8200 integrates seamlessly with the SeaChange Media Architecture based on open standards such as AVC Intra, MXF, and MOV; the high-performance Universal MediaLibrary storage using a 10GigE IP backbone; and standard networking protocols such as CIFS, FTP, NFS, and HTTP.
The MCL 8200 supports standard definition as well as 1080i and 720p high definition. It can easily be configured as SD only or HD/SD switchable supporting all the standard broadcast formats. Input/output signals are SMPTE 259M or SMPTE 292M-compliant and support up to 8 embedded AES pairs and various modes for VBI and ANC. Vertical Interval Time Code is supported on each SDI input and output. Linear Time Code input is also supported.
